Title I is a federal program designed to help students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to meet challenging state content standards. Title I resources are distributed to schools where needs are the greatest, in amounts sufficient to make a difference in the improvement of instruction.
In Anderson District 3, Title I provides funding for instructional specialists and smaller class sizes, as well as for computers, books, and other instructional materials. Each school has a committee of parents, teachers, community members, and administrators to help plan and implement the Title I program in that school.
Comments and suggestions made by parents are important to the planning and implementation of the Title I school-wide programs. If you would like to review your child’s school’s Title I program or participate on a planning team, please contact that school’s principal.
